Nicholas Zugaro is a Senior Counsel and a resident in Houston. Nicholas offers efficient, careful, and professional representation in corporate bankruptcy matters. In his 10 years of practice, Nicholas has represented debtors, liquidating trustees, official creditors’ committees, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, equity holders, officers and directors, patent holders, landlords, tenants, and asset purchasers in numerous corporate bankruptcy cases.

Nicholas has broad experience in a variety of industries. In the oil and gas sector, his current and prior representations include, among others: In re Alta Mesa Resources, Inc. (Secured Creditor), In re Sanchez Energy (royalty owner and buyer), In re Agera Energy (Secured Creditor) In re EXCO Resources, Inc. (major pipeline operator creditor), In re Connect Transport, Inc. (Official Creditors Committee), In re Sneed Shipbuilding (Debtor), In re Galveston Bay Biodiesel (Debtor), In re Deep Marine Holdings, Inc. (Official Creditors’ Committee), In re SemCrude, L.P. (Producers Representative, and 80 individual producers), In re Gulf Fleet Holdings, Inc. (Official Creditors Committee and litigation trustee), In re Northstar Operating Company (Major Creditor and Preference Defendant), and In re Trailhead Engineering (Secured Creditor).

Nicholas has also represented clients in various bankruptcy matters in other industries including, healthcare, construction, food service, retail, and manufacturing.

Nicholas has extensive experience in bankruptcy litigation and has prosecuted and defended numerous companies in preference actions and claims objections brought by trustees. He has also tried numerous complex commercial cases to juries and to the bench in state and federal court.
