Preanka Gounden is a Senior Associate at ENS in the Competition / Anti-Trust practice.

Preanka specialises in advising clients on various aspects of competition law including: multi-jurisdictional merger notifications, prohibited practices and general compliance (for example, opinions and general advice on business strategy in light of competition legislation).

Her experience includes preparing local and cross-border merger notifications; reviewing and advising on various commercial agreements and corporate governance structures from a merger control, abuse of dominance and/or prohibited practice perspective; reviewing and preparing competition law compliance manuals / protocols; preparing corporate leniency and exemption applications; and crafting merger conditions. She has experience in contested and uncontested litigation in both the merger and prohibited practice contexts.

In addition,  Preanka is also experienced in drafting legal opinions vis-à-vis competition law compliance, assisting with due diligence investigations, preparing and presenting competition law compliance training, advising on the settlement of instances of prior implementation, and assisting clients with queries from the competition authorities both generally and also in respect of the health market, retail grocery market and the online intermediation platform market inquiries. She has had an opportunity to work with, and gain experience from, small, medium and large corporate and commercial enterprises within various industries including (amongst others): the energy sector, publicly listed space, agricultural sector, the telecommunications sector, private equity, education, retail, REITS, healthcare sector and the finance industry.

Preanka is a member of the Association of Competition Law Practitioners and has authored various competition law-related articles for Without Prejudice and Go Legal and has prepared headnotes for the Butterworths Competition Law Reports.
