Profile
Richard is part of Shoosmiths' national Construction team, based in Manchester and specialises in non-contentious construction law and practice.
Dealing regularly with the drafting and negotiation of building contracts (particularly the JCT forms of contract), consultant appointments and collateral warranties and with experience acting for developers, contractors, subcontractors and funders alike, Richard is well versed in preparing and negotiating construction contracts from all sides of a project.
Richard graduated in 2013 from the University of Exeter with an LLB Law and the undertook the Legal Practice Course at Staffordshire University, graduating in 2014.
Richard qualified as a solicitor in April 2018, having completed his training contract with Knights plc. Richard worked as a Construction Solicitor at JMW Solicitors for 3 years prior to joining Shoosmiths in May 2021.
