Profile

Robert C. Linton is a Member in the Firm's Chicago office and serves as the Practice Group Leader for the Real Estate Practice Group. Mr. Linton serves clients in the real estate industry, providing counsel for their commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, real estate finance, development and condominium law. He represents institutional and private property owners around the country in sales, acquisitions, development, and commercial leasing and property management issues.

Mr. Linton has handled thousands of office, retail and industrial lease transactions for landlords and tenants. He has also worked for pension funds, REITs, insurance companies, financial institutions, developers and other real estate companies on numerous multimillion-dollar, multistate sales and acquisitions around the country, including the ABN AMRO purchase of 135 S. LaSalle Street in Chicago for more than $100 million. In his national commercial real estate practice, Mr. Linton oversees purchase and sale transactions for real estate valued at $2 million to $200 million. He also represents clients such as McDonald's Corporation, helping them to fulfill their real estate needs, including nationwide property acquisitions and leasing.

Mr. Linton has made presentations on commercial leasing topics such as workletters, tenant construction, letter of credit security deposits, and telecommunications issues to members of the Building Owners and Managers Association and the International Council of Shopping Centers, and has also presented at seminars on commercial real estate transactions.
