Profile

Sarah is an associate in the Corporate Restructuring and Advisory team based in Shoosmiths' Manchester office. Sarah advises on all legal aspects of restructuring and insolvency relating to both contentious and non-contentious matters. Sarah regularly advises a variety of clients including banks, insolvency practitioners, companies, directors and creditors on all aspects of the insolvency process.

Sarah’s non-contentious work includes advising insolvency practitioners on all elements arising from their appointment either as administrator, liquidator or receiver, acting for both buyer and seller in business and asset sales out of administration, advising on company voluntary arrangements, reviewing security documentation and structures and preparing court applications for insolvency related matters. 

Sarah’s contentious work includes advising on ROT issues, supply chain risks, formal insolvency appointments, debt collection, directors' duties, director disqualification proceedings and advising on both sides in relation to antecedent transactions.

Sarah has assisted in a number of high profile administrations including Oddbins, Late Rooms, Superbreaks and Malvern Travel Technology. Sarah has also played a key role in a number of successful CVAs for high street retailer clients including Moss Bros, Poundstretcher and Jigsaw.

Sarah completed her training contract at Shoosmiths and joined the team on qualification in September 2020.
