Sergio has been a lawyer for 5 years although he has worked in law offices for over a decade. His practice areas are Insurance & Reinsurance, Real Estate & Hospitality, and Business Law.In the practice of Insurance & Reinsurance law, Sergio has experience in regulatory matters, authorizations, licenses for insurers and insurance intermediaries, insurance contracts and insurance defense.In Real Estate & Hospitality, he has been involved in the development, structuring, financing and purchase and sale of real estate projects (residential and commercial) in urban areas of Guatemala.In Business Law, he advises national and transnational companies on strategic planning as well as in day to day corporate matters.Sergio began his career as a legal assistant in Intellectual Property at Consortium Legal in 2007. He then worked as a Jurisprudential Analyst at the Constitutional Court of Guatemala for two years. After receiving a degree in Legal and Social Sciences from Rafael Landívar University in 2013, he became a Coordinating Attorney of Corporate and Intellectual Property law at INTEGRUM in Guatemala City. After a brief stint at LatamLex, he joined BLP as an Associate at the Firm’s Guatemala office in 2016.Sergio is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Business Law from Rafael Landívar University.He is based in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
