Profile

Stuart Maxey serves as head of Bradley’s Private Equity team. He has significant experience in middle-market M&A transactions, particularly transactions involving private equity firms. He is known for finding creative solutions to get deals closed. Clients find that Stuart’s CPA background is valuable in connection with deal structuring and in handling complex purchase price adjustments and earn-outs.

Stuart serves as outside general counsel to numerous private equity portfolio companies and family-owned businesses. He has participated in over 150 M&A transactions domestically and internationally across numerous industries and is among the most active M&A attorneys in the Southeast.

Stuart has handled transactions for the following firms: Featheringill Capital, EBSCO Capital, Arlington Family Offices, Eastside Partners, McKinney Capital, Harbert Private Equity, New Capital Partners, Court Square Capital Partners and Willis Stein & Partners. In addition, he has been involved in transactions with the following firms: Vista Equity Partners, Court Square Capital Partners, AEA Investors, Pfingsten Partners, Carousel Capital, Gryphon Investors, Castanea Partners, Pamlico Capital and Main Street Capital.

In 2016, Stuart was the recipient of the M&A Advisor’s “Emerging Leader” award, recognizing the “Top 40 Under 40” M&A practitioners in the United States.
