Profile

Susana Cabrera is a partner at Garrigues where she is a member of the EU and Competition Law Department. She has advised Spanish and international clients on a wide variety of EU and Spanish competition law matters, such as mergers and acquisitions, cartel investigations, abuse of dominance, distribution practices, state aids or compliance issues. She currently collaborates with the International Business Program organized by the Centro de Estudios Garrigues and Harvard Law School, Madrid (2012, 2011) and has been a lecturer in competition law at the LLM program in Business Legal Practice at the Instituto de Empresa, Madrid (1997-2010) and in other postgraduate programs (Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles or Complutense University). Susana regularly speaks about competition law at different bar association meetings. She is actively involved in the Section of International Law of the American Bar Association, holding leadership positions as co-chair of the International Antitrust Law Committee, member of the Section’s Publications' Board and liaison to the Consejo General de la Abogacía (body representing and coordinating all Spanish Bar Associations). In 2010, Susana was elected as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Susana received her legal education from the Complutense University where she obtained her Law Degree and from San Pablo CEU University where she obtained a Diploma in Business Administration. She was also educated at the École Supérieur de Commerce Extérieur in Paris where she received the European Business Certificate and at Konstanz University as part of her legal studies with an Erasmus Scholarship. Finally, she has an LLM in European Legal Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium). She is recognized in international legal directories including Chambers & Partners, Global Competition Review, International Who’s Who Competition Lawyers & Economists, PLC Which Lawyer or Best Lawyers.
