Susie has over 17 years experience practising law with a focus on governance and administrative law. Her work includes preparing codes of conduct and undertaking investigations on alleged breaches and conducting legislative compliance audits. She has particular expertise advising local governments in relation to meeting procedures, confidentiality, conflict of interest, ICAC, community land (including development and application of management plans), roads, Freedom of Information Act 1991 (applications and associated matters), encroachment issues, drafting and reviewing of commercial agreements, rating and valuation, land acquisition and general governance.

Prior to commencing at MinterEllison, Susie was a Partner, specialising in local government governance and regulatory services for eight years at her previous firm and has practised administrative law for over 11 years.

In addition to practising law and advising councils, Susie has also written education resource materials and assessments for various accredited local government-based courses on modules covering local government planning, regulatory services and rates.

Susie previously practiced in commercial law, specialising in property work in Darwin and Adelaide. She also has experience with land law including contracts for sale and purchase of business and land, leases, licences, developments and construction and additionally had experience in other general commercial issues effecting local government.

Susie has worked with councils, state government, major developers and private individuals.
