Tao Zhang focuses on patent litigation, patent prosecution and invalidation, patent
searches, and other IP-related counseling. He has extensive experience in providing
legal advice to both domestic and multinational clients.
Dr. Zhang has successfully represented many clients before the Patent Reexamination
Board and courts in various patent invalidation, administrative litigation, and civil
infringement cases. He is frequently in charge of handling large and complex cases
and is widely recognized and trusted by his clients for obtaining excellent results. Dr.
Zhang handled an administrative appeal case regarding graphical user interfaces which
was ranked as a top 10 innovative case by the Supreme People’s Court in 2014. Dr.
Zhang is also experienced in helping clients to obtain valuable patents in China, and
provides profound legal services such as landscape searches, freedom to operate
analyses, and consulting.
Before joining Han Kun Law Offices, Dr. Zhang worked in CCPIT Patent and
Trademark Law Office for 12 years.
