A Special Counsel in MinterEllison's Corporate division, Terry has been a senior legal adviser to government for more than 15 years. His understanding of government is matched by strong corporate law expertise.

After beginning his practice as a corporate and commercial lawyer, Terry went on to become Chief Commercial Counsel in the SA Crown Solicitor's Office (1996 to 2004) and Deputy Chief Executive of the South Australian Attorney General's Department (2004 to 2006).

During his time as a government lawyer, Terry advised various agencies on strategic, tactical and legal issues relating to their commercial activities. He also participated in the development, implementation and monitoring of prudential and commercial protocols for the SA Government.

Terry's unique experience informs the strategic advice he provides to corporate clients in relation to commercial transactions, including sales of large assets and businesses and joint ventures. He also advises a number of public, private and not-for-profit clients on administrative law, corporate governance and probity matters. He has particular expertise in infrastructure and development and is a current advisor to Flinders Ports.

  • Pro-chancellor, University of South Australia
