Chris Nickels Quoted in American City Business Journals Article About Significance for Employers of Latest COVID Guidance from CDC

Quarles & Brady partner Chris Nickels provided insight for an American City Business Journals article about what the latest COVID-19 guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) means for employers.

In the article, Nickels, a Milwaukee-based member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group, said the CDC’s recommendation that people who are asymptomatic no longer need to be tested may mean employers need to rethink their testing policy.

Nickels said the most actionable guidance revisions relate to testing, with the CDC no longer recommending testing asymptomatic people who have not had recent exposure in most settings — a change that may require businesses to change testing policies they have in place.

"Coupled with the EEOC’s recently revised guidance limiting the permissibility of regularly testing employees, and the types of tests that can be used, employers with testing requirements should review those protocols to assess current compliance," Nickels said.
