Diego Peralta is a partner at Carey and co-head of the firm’s Banking and Finance Group. His practice focuses on the creation and structuring offinancial products and business financing, both from the lender and the borrower’s perspective; on the purchases and sales of companies; on theissuance and placement of debt and equity securities in Chile or elsewhere; as well as on financial regulatory matters.Mr Peralta has been recognised as a leading lawyer by several prestigious international publications.He is counsel and member of the Executive Committee of IABA, member of the Council of the Chilean Bar Association and of the AdvisoryCommittee on Capital Markets to the Finance Minister. During 2015, he was also a member of the New Commerce Codification Commission forChile and part of a working group which analysed a new General Banking Law in Chile.He graduated from Universidad de Chile.

Claudio Lizana has been a partner at Carey since 2000 and is co-head of the Corporate/M&A and Antitrust and Regulated Markets Groups. Heis a member of the Antitrust Committee at the Chilean Bar Association and is widely recognised in Competition and Antitrust by internationalpublications. Claudio is co-author of the Chilean chapter of Overview of Competition Law in Latin America, IBRAC (2016) and of the Chilean chapterof Merger Control, Getting The Deal Through (2013–2018). Claudio graduated from Universidad de Chile (JD, 1990) and holds an LL.M. from HarvardLaw School (1993) and also completed studies in Politics of Global Finance at the London School of Economics (1993).

Vesna Camelio is an associate at Carey. Her practice focuses on banking, corporations, foreign investment, capital markets and commercial law.She has been recognised in banking and finance by the international publication IFLR1000.Vesna is member of the panel of arbitrators of the Arbitration Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and is also a member of the ChileanBar Association.She graduated from Universidad Católica de Chile and attended a course on Financial Accounting for Lawyers at Universidad del Desarrollo.

Carolina Veas is an associate at Carey. Her practice focuses on antitrust litigation, merger control, M&A, international finance and the interactionbetween business matters and antitrust regulation. During 2015 she worked as legal support for King & Wood Mallesons and DLA Piper in London,and during 2008 she was an executive assistant at the Australian Chilean Chamber of Commerce in Sydney, Australia. Carolina graduated fromUniversidad Católica de Chile (2005). She has a Degree in Antitrust and Regulated Markets, Universidad Católica de Chile (2013) and Master’sDegrees in International Finance and Regulated Markets (2015) and Comparative Political Economics Degree (2015), University College of London
