(May 28, 2019) – Verrill Dana is pleased to welcome intellectual property and litigation attorney Benjamin Stern to the firm’s Boston office. Leveraging his nearly 20 years of experience practicing in international law firms, Stern focuses his practice on assisting his clients in resolving intellectual property disputes and other complex disputes involving technology.

Stern’s extensive experience includes trials in federal and state courts, as well as in matters before the International Trade Commission and in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Stern draws on his deep expertise in intellectual property and commercial litigation to bring a multi-faceted approach to his cases, and to quickly identify core issues and to craft a clear and consistent strategy for success. His experience encompasses a broad range of industries and technologies, including telecommunications, software, semiconductors, golf equipment, medical devices, data storage systems, SMS messaging, voice over internet (VoIP), speech recognition, video-on-demand, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods. He also has substantial experience successfully litigating against non-practicing entities.

Stern graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Swarthmore College, with distinction, and earned his law degree from the New York University School of Law. He has been named a “Rising Star” for Intellectual Property Litigation in New England Super Lawyers Magazine for several years.
