October, 2019 - United States of America

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is proud to announce Cleveland Office Managing Partner James Dimitrijevs has been named to World Trademark Review’s Best of the Best list.
WTR Global Leaders is a new publication that aggregates the world’s foremost legal and corporate trademark professionals. Its WTR 1000 and WTR 300 lists identify those people not only based on experience in relation to creating, protecting, managing, and enforcing critical brand rights, but also based on their ability to innovate, inspire, and go above and beyond to deliver for their clients.
Dimitrijevs joined Dinsmore in 2017, when he helped launch the firm’s Cleveland office, which now boasts 11 attorneys, six of whom practice intellectual property law.
“I am fortunate to work with a talented group of lawyers, paralegals, and employees, both in house at our clients’ and at Dinsmore,” he told WTR in an extensive Q&A profile . “My keys to success have been diligence, attention to detail, a commitment to solving problems with a sense of ownership, and assembling a team of people who buy into these principles.”
Dimitrijevs has also been named to The Best Lawyers in America list for trade secrets law each of the last two years . Just last month, an article, “ Best Practices for Managing International Trademark Portfolios ,” he wrote with Dinsmore associate James Theo, was published in Westlaw Journal Intellectual Property. Dinsmore attorneys L isa Parker Gates, Karen Gaunt, and Lynda Roesch joined him on the WTR 1000 this year.
“The best IP attorneys remain curious and committed to resolving their own curiosity,” Dimitrijevs told WTR. “This leads to asking questions of yourself, your clients, and your colleagues.”
Dimitrijevs earned his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law following his B.A. in political science from John Carroll University.
