Roanoke Office Expands

<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Roanoke, Va.</strong> —</span><span style="font-size: 10pt;"> </span>The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle announced today that James F. McKell, Jr. joined the Roanoke office as an associate. His primary area of practice is corporate law, with an emphasis on transactions and workouts.</p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"> </span></p> <p>McKell received his B.A., cum laude, from Wake Forest University in 2007. He later received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2010. While attending Duke, he was staff editor for <em>Duke Law and Technology Review</em> for two years and research editor for <em>Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum</em> for one year.</p> <p>McKell previously worked as a legislative intern for the United State House of Representatives and as a judicial summer clerk in the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
