Spilman Elects Four New Members

<strong>Charleston, W.Va.</strong> — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that Carrie H. Grundmann, Bryce J. Hunter, Jason C. Pizatella and William P. Smith were elected as Members of the law firm effective January 1, 2019.<br /> <br /> <a href="https://www.spilmanlaw.com/people/carrie_grundmann/details">Grundmann</a> is based in the firm's Winston-Salem, North Carolina office, but she also maintains a practice in Spilman's Roanoke, Virginia office. Her primary area of practice is litigation with an emphasis on labor and employment law, consumer finance, and public utility and energy law. She earned her undergraduate degree, <em>summa cum laude</em>, from Roanoke College and her law degree from The College of William & Mary.<br /> <br /> <a href="https://www.spilmanlaw.com/people/bryce_hunter/details">Hunter</a> is based in the firm's Roanoke, Virginia office. His practice focuses on banking and financial services law, including securities law, finance transactions, creditors’ rights and debt restructuring. He also assists clients in real estate, tax credit financing and franchising matters. He is co-chair of Spilman's Tax Credits Practice Group. He earned his undergraduate degree from Dickinson College and his law degree from The College of William & Mary.<br /> <br /> <a href="https://www.spilmanlaw.com/people/jason_pizatella/details">Pizatella</a> is based in Spilman's Charleston, West Virginia office. His primary areas of practice are general corporate law, business expansion and economic development, administrative law, energy and public utilities. He is co-chair of the firm's Government Relations Practice Group and also spends a significant portion of his time serving clients in the area of government relations. He earned his undergraduate degree, <em>summa cum laude</em>, and law degree from West Virginia University.<br /> <br /> <a href="https://www.spilmanlaw.com/people/william_smith/details">Smith</a> is based in the firm's Pittsburgh office. His primary areas of practice are patent law and intellectual property law. He serves as chair of Spilman's Intellectual Property Practice Group.
