Verrill Welcomes Litigator Anuj Khetarpal


(September 30, 2020)– Verrill is pleased to welcome litigation attorney Anuj Khetarpal to the firm as a member of both the Litigation & Trial Group and Health Care & Life Sciences Group. At Verrill, Khetarpal represents both individuals and businesses in a wide range of complex civil and white collar criminal matters, including in the health care and technology industries.

Prior to joining Verrill, Khetarpal had a diverse litigation practice on all sides of the aisle and bench. As a Public Defender at the Committee for Public Counsel Services, and subsequently an Assistant Attorney General in the White Collar Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, he has years of experience refining his investigatory and oral advocacy skills, both in and outside of the courtroom. He has first-chaired bench and jury trials and argued dispositive motions in the Massachusetts state courts, and presented enforcement matters to grand juries across the Commonwealth. Khetarpal also served as a judicial law clerk at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. In those roles, he worked on a variety of complex cases focused on criminal, employment discrimination, intellectual property, immigration, environmental, and other matters.

Khetarpal is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Civil Rights and Social Justice Section Council, the Boston Bar Association Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Steering Committee, the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston, and the American Constitution Society. Khetarpal received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, summa cum laude, and earned his legal degree from the Boston University School of Law, cum laude.
