November, 2020 - Germany

Effective immediately, Dr. Philip Kempermann is taking over the IT division in the management of commercial law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek. Dr. Peter Ladwig, who has been responsible for IT and Digitalization in management since November 2018, is handing over the IT division to Kempermann. Dr. Johan Schneider, previously responsible for Organization and Business Processes, will additionally take over the Digitalization division.

Dr. Philip Kempermann has been Equity Partner at the law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Düsseldorf since 2016. For some fifteen years, he has been advising companies on implementing complex IT and data protection projects, in particular the introduction of IT systems and the group-wide use and exploitation of (personal) data. He supports companies in structuring systems and processes and in implementing the relevant projects. Kempermann started his career at Heuking as a trainee lawyer in 2005.

Dr. Johan Schneider, who has been with the firm since 2003 and an Equity Partner in Hamburg since 2010, has been a member of the management team for two years and will now be responsible for the law firm’s digitalization strategy in addition to the Organization and Business Process divisions.

Accordingly, Dr. Peter Ladwig is handing over his functions. “We would like to thank Dr. Peter Ladwig for all his work and for launching the digitalization strategy. At the same time, we are pleased to have the support of a peer who is highly qualified in the IT sector, who is taking over a fairly labor-intensive area, and welcome Dr. Philip Kempermann to our ranks,” said Dr. Andreas Urban on the election of Philip Kempermann.

“I look forward to the opportunity to actively shape Heuking’s future and the continued modernization of our IT landscape. I would like to thank Peter Ladwig for his excellent development work that offers a sound basis for the future steps that we intend to take,” commented Philip Kempermann with a view to the upcoming topics.
