Beccar Varela Names New Partners in Corporate Law, Banking, and Compliance

Buenos Aires, April 27th, 2021. On April 22nd, Beccar Varela promoted Carolina Serra, Gustavo Papeschi and Pedro Silvestri to partner, in recognition of their talent and of the great contribution they have made to the firm in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, corporate law, banking, compliance, and real estate.

Carolina Serra joined Beccar Varela in 2005. She has extensive experience in advising both national and international companies on corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. Over the past years, she has also counseled on complex financial transactions, as well as on the structuring of trusts. Carolina obtained her law degree from Universidad de Buenos Aires (2006) and pursued a master’s in law and Economics studies at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (2009-2010). She worked as a foreign associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP (New York, USA, 2016-2017).

Gustavo Papeschi joined the firm in 2007. He specializes in corporate advice, banking and financial institutions, anti-corruption and compliance. He also has extensive experience advising on distribution and franchising agreements, and on private international law matters. Gustavo obtained his law degree from Universidad de Belgrano (Academic Merit Recognition, 2006), and obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International and Comparative Law from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law (2013). He worked as a foreign associate at Haynes and Boone, LLP (Dallas, Texas, USA, 2013) and at Holland and Knight, LLP (Miami, Florida, USA, 2014). He is admitted to practice before the New York State Bar.

Pedro Silvestri joined the firm in 2010. His practice is mainly focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and real estate. He also provides advice on project finance and on capital markets, both to issuers and underwriters, investment grade and non-investment grade, in public and private offerings. Pedro obtained his law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina (2009) and obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M./Kellogg) from Northwestern University / Kellogg School of Management (2013), and a Certificate in Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management (2013). He worked as a foreign associate at Fox, Horan & Camerini LLP (New York, USA, 2013-2014) and at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP (New York, USA, 2014-2016).

Horacio E. Beccar Varela, the firm’s managing partner, states: “I am very happy with the promotion to partners of Carolina, Gustavo, and Pedro.
