ALRUD Law Firm will play at the 1st FIDE Online World Corporate Chess Championship

February, 2021 - Moscow, Russia

<p><span data-color='#ff351b'>ALRUD Law Firm</span> will take part in the first corporate world chess championship organized by <span data-color='#ff351b'>the International Chess Federation (FIDE).</span> The tournament will take place on <span data-color='#ff351b'>February 19-21, 2021.</span> The games will be played online, with designated as the hosting platform, and will be broadcast live across multiple outlets including, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter and international streaming platforms in multiple languages, including Russian.</p> <p>The competition turnout has exceeded all expectations. With 288 teams from 78 different countries registered, the event will bring together 1,467 players. 36 grandmasters will play in the tournament, including the World Champion Magnus Carlsen.</p> <p>In each team, only one player may be “invited” (not having direct relations with the company), and only one player can have standard rating higher than 2500 in the FIDE rating list.</p> <p>ALRUD Law Firm team is represented by <a href="" title="German Zakharov">German Zakharov</a>, Partner, Head of the Antitrust Practice – Team Captain; <span data-color='#ff351b'>Timur Akhundov,</span> Senior Associate (Corporate, Banking and Finance, Business Regulation); <span data-color='#ff351b'>Kamilla Goncharova,</span> Knowledge Management Director; <span data-color='#ff351b'>Boris Pribylov,</span> Senior Attorney (Corporate, Business Regulation). Our invited player is <span data-color='#ff351b'>Vladimir Malakhov,</span> a Russian chess grandmaster, a member of the Russian team that won gold at the 2009 World Team Chess Championship, and the winner of the 2009 European Rapid Chess Championship.</p> <p>Most of the top companies in the world have joined the competition. ALRUD is the only Russian law firm at the tournament. Russia is also represented by the teams of Sberbank, Gazprom, Skolkovo, Rambler, Yandex, Kaspersky, VK, MTS, Pulkovo, Aeroflot and others – in total 28 teams. However, FIDE is organizing a fund-raiser in cooperation with the platform Softgiving, and participating teams and companies and their supporters are encouraged to donate towards one of three social projects currently being developed by FIDE: Chess in Education programs for underprivileged children, Chess for people with Disabilities, and the FIDE veterans support program.</p> <p>If you also want to contribute, you can do it through this <a href="" title="link">link</a>.
