Buchalter Welcomes New Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Shareholder in Northern California

August 04, 2021. Buchalter is thrilled to welcome new Corporate Law Shareholder Jenni Krengel as Chair of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group. She will work out of both the Firm’s San Francisco and Sacramento offices.

Krengel advises clients on all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation, including the design, compliance, and operation of qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and nonqualified plans. Her new position as Chair along with her impressive work as tax and benefits counsel makes her a significant addition.

Krengel previously served as assistant chief counsel and acting deputy general counsel for CalPERS where her primary responsibilities included advising the pension system on tax and fiduciary issues, pension and health benefits administration, and policy development. She is an active member of the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys and the American Bar Association.

Krengel earned her J.D. from University of California, Davis School of Law and her B.A. from Emory University.
