December 1, 2021 (San Francisco, CA) – Hanson Bridgett LLP, an AmLaw 200 law firm for all of California, is pleased to announce that André K. Campbell, Partner, has been appointed by Governor Newsom to a judgeship in the Sacramento County Superior Court.

"André is an exceptional person with a wealth of intelligence and sound judgment," said Kristina Lawson, Managing Partner. "We are proud that his legal talents have been recognized and we know he will make an excellent addition to the Bench."

Campbell has been a partner in the firm's Sacramento office since 2010, focusing on construction law. He represented private and public clients, including owners, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, regarding all aspects of construction law. Campbell also served as the firm's chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Network and has long been an advocate for diversity and mentorship in the legal profession. He was recently awarded the Elevation Award from The Bay Area CREW Chapters and The Registry, which is given to a man who empowers, inspires, mentors, and sponsors women in the commercial real estate industry. Campbell personally mentors 32 law school students and attorneys across the country—all of whom are people of color, or women, or both—and has been helping uplift others for decades.

Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, he was an Associate and Partner at McDonough, Holland & Allen PC from 1996 to 2010. Campbell served as a commissioned officer in the Air Force from 1981 to 1996, attaining the rank of Major. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School and a Master of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Jamie R. Roman.

"I am truly humbled and honored that Governor Newsom appointed me to the Court. The Sacramento County Superior Court has such impressive judges, and I will strive to uphold the high standards of this Bench" said Campbell.
