Lia Alizia & Rahayu Ningsih Hoed Named Top 100 Women in Litigation Asia-Pacific 2021

The field of law has always been male dominated, even in the most developed countries in the world. Therefore, seeing female lawyers play vital roles and excel in the growth of the practice of law is still remarkable, especially in the practice of litigation.
Leading the way to greater diversity, Makarim & Taira S. has been a place of growth and a springboard for many top female lawyers in the country. This year, we have witnessed two of our outstanding female lawyers being recognized and awarded for their excellent work in the field of litigation. Our Managing Partner, Lia Alizia and our Senior Partner, Rahayu Ningsih Hoed, have again been listed in Benchmark Asia-Pacific’s Top 100 Women in Litigation 2021, in which only three Indonesian female lawyers are named.
The list is based on extensive research and months of investigation into individual litigators’ professional activities as well as client feedback surveys and one-on-one interviews conducted by Benchmark Litigation. It names the most distinguished women in the world of litigation, who have earned their place amongst the leading litigators through the roles they have played in some of the most impactful litigation cases in recent history and the hard-won respect of their peers and clients.
We believe that this recognition is a result of years of relentless focus, determination and persistence, combined with great loyalty to the profession and passion for the work. May it inspire and pave the way for more female lawyers who strive to become the best in the field.
