Carey Olsen advises Jersey Cricket as it establishes new home at Grainville

August, 2022 - Bermuda, Bermuda

Securing the 25-year lease means Jersey Cricket can now press forward with its plans to create first-class facilities for the sport in the island from a permanent home, The Jersey National Cricket Centre, which is set to be opened tomorrow [3 August] by the Bailiff of Jersey, Sir Timothy Le Cocq.

The Carey Olsen team advising Jersey Cricket on the lease comprised partner Chris Philpott and senior associate Lyndsay Houlette.

Chris said: "We are very excited to have been involved in this project for cricket in Jersey. Securing the sport a permanent home in the island, particularly in the ideal surroundings at Grainville, means the sport will finally have the home and cricket centre it deserves. I am also very much looking forward to the venue hosting its first official game, the ICC Men's CWC Challenge match between Bermuda and Italy on Thursday, after its opening by the Bailiff."

Philip Norman of Jersey Cricket added: "This is an incredibly exciting time for Jersey Cricket. Having a new home in the shape of The Jersey National Cricket Centre opens up so many opportunities for the sport in the island. Carey Olsen's property team played an integral part in it coming to fruition and Jersey Cricket is extremely grateful for the excellent service, advice and commercial guidance in relation to this project."
