Carey Olsen reduces its carbon emissions with new electric vehicles fleet

July, 2022 - Bermuda, Bermuda

Since becoming the first offshore law firm to enroll its entire network of offices into ESI Monitor's Environmental Business Operations Award and Standard in 2020, Carey Olsen has been working to reduce its impact on the environment. In line with this commitment, Carey Olsen's Guernsey office has updated its vehicle fleet to electric only models with the previous diesel and petrol models coming to their end of life.

The new fleet comprises two Fiat 500 Electric Actions which produce no CO2 emissions or exhaust gases as well as an electric Nissan e-NV200.

The vehicles are used frequently by members of the firm's property and facilities teams, with the change being led by facilities manager Craig Brouard and colleagues Michael Harris and Mark Stanford.

Carey Olsen Guernsey corporate partner Annette Alexander, a member of the firm's global environmental, social and governance (ESG) committee, said: "We're pleased to make the switch to electric vehicles as our diesel and petrol car fleet comes to the end of its life. This is an important step for the firm and our ESG commitments on our journey towards sustainability."

The updated vehicle models have been sourced with the assistance of local car dealerships Le Mont Saint Garage and San Lorenzo Service Centre.
