Ice'ces, who in September will begin the second year of her Bachelor of Law with Business degree at The University of Law in Birmingham, previously studied at The Berkeley Institute in Bermuda. As part of the scholarship, Ice'ces has been awarded a grant which will support her studies abroad through the duration of her degree. She has also joined the firm for a four-week placement this summer where she will gain experience by working alongside both the trusts and corporate teams.

Mary Ward, a partner in the corporate team, said: "I am so pleased Ice'ces has been awarded the 'Investing in People' scholarship. She is an exceptionally motivated student who stood out during the interviews for her tenacity and drive. Supporting students on their journey to becoming lawyers is important to the Carey Olsen partnership here in Bermuda and we're delighted another promising young Bermudian will be supported through this program."

Ice'ces commented: "I am thrilled to be selected as the winner of this year's scholarship award. I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to the firm for making the scholarship possible and the financial support that will allow me to focus on my studies and complete my law degree in the UK. I am also extremely appreciative for the opportunity of a summer placement as I strive to become a qualified solicitor."
