Kochhar & Co. Receives the Int'l Council of Jurists Award

We are pleased and proud to inform you that Kochhar & Co.'s Chairman and Managing Partner, Mr. Rohit Kochhar was awarded the International Council of Jurists Award by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Manmohan Singh for his "distinctive accomplishment in the areas of corporate law and legal entrepreneurship". The said Award was conferred on Mr. Kochhar on Saturday, December 13, 2008 in the presence of the Hon'ble Chief Justice of the Supreme of India. I am attaching a picture showing Mr. Kochhar receiving the Award from the Hon'ble Prime Minister. To the left of the Prime Minister is Mr. Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, the Chief Justice of India. It may be relevant to mention that the only two other awardees in the "international category" were Mr. Ram Jethmalani, Senior Advocate and former Law Minister and the current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, Mr. Beverley Mclachlin (for administration of justice) whose Award was received by the Canadian High Commissioner to India, Mr. Joseph Caron.
