PLMJ Awarded Best Portuguese Law Firm 2009

May, 2009 - Lisbon, Portugal

At the awards ceremony for the Chambers Excellence Awards – known as the Oscars of the Legal World – held last week in London, PLMJ was elected Best Portuguese Law Firm of the year for the role it played in providing legal assistance in the main transactions and deals to take place in Portugal in 2008, such as its handling of large-scale projects, the sale of Babcock & Brown’s shareholding in Enersis, the purchase of a Portuguese company by Microsoft and its involvement in 20 international arbitration proceedings, among others, as well as the firms’ international expansion into Portuguese-speaking countries – Angola, Mozambique, Brazil and Macao and its network of regional partnerships throughout Portugal.

This award is a great distinction for PLMJ – A.M. Pereira, Sáragga Leal, Oliveira Martins, Júdice & Associados – as it prizes the excellence, quality and innovation of the highly-specialised legal services provided by PLMJ lawyers and, above all, its capacity to bring added value to its clients’ businesses and transactions, which is a source of great pride for the firm.

Manuel Santos Vitor and Nuno Libano Monteiro, PLMJ Management Board Members were present to receive the award on behalf of PLMJ.
