Olivier Vrins Made Partner

September, 2009 - Brussels, Belgium

ALTIUS is proud to announce that Olivier Vrins was made partner. Olivier specialises in Intellectual Property law and heads ALTIUS’ Anti-Counterfeiting Practice. Over the last years, he has consolidated our outstanding reputation in this field on both the Belgian and the international scene.

As a member of the Anti-Counterfeiting Committee of ECTA, co-editor of the OUP book “Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights through Border Measures” and co-webmaster of www.anti-counterfeiting.eu, Olivier has extensive knowledge of the customs seizure system at European borders.

His expertise is complemented by a long term practical experience in this field. Described by Chambers and Partners as a ‘highly skilled IP specialist’ and ‘extremely knowledgeable’, Olivier has also gained proficiency in a broad range of other IPR-related topics, from trademark law to patent law. He is regularly invited to speak at seminars and to give training courses to rights holders, Customs administrations and law-enforcement authorities on anti-counterfeiting and other IPR-related subjects.

As partner, Olivier Vrins will further reinforce ALTIUS’ Intellectual Property team, one of the largest dedicated IP teams in Belgium, which enjoys a solid reputation and is a market leader in the field of Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Media & Telecommunications law in Belgium.

ALTIUS is one of the largest independent law firms in Belgium. It provides a broad range of legal services to multinational companies and financial institutions in various industry sectors on international and Belgian transactions, as well as acting as the day-to-day counsel for Belgian companies and Belgian subsidiaries of many multinationals.

ALTIUS was voted Belgian IP Law Firm of the year in 2008 and 2009. The team is described by Chambers and Partners (2009) as ‘a first choice for IP matters in Belgium’.
