May, 2010 - Edinburgh, Scotland

Leading UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn has recently secured a number of new wins in the public sector.

The firm’s appointments include:

Scottish Water
The firm has been re-appointed by Scottish Water to provide legal advice on the company’s redundant asset disposals and auction services. Shepherd and Wedderburn secured the new three year contract with the publicly-owned Scottish water and sewerage service provider from 1 April 2010 following a competitive tender process.

Falkirk Council
The firm has been appointed to act for Falkirk Council on their proposed transfer of culture and leisure services to a charitable trust. If the Council approves the feasibility study, the firm will provide more detailed advice on the transfer itself.

East Renfrewshire Council
After a competitive tender exercise, the firm has been appointed to the panel to provide property related services to East Renfrewshire Council. Shepherd and Wedderburn will provide advice in relation to property, planning, construction, procurement and Freedom of Information and the litigation connected with these.
