PHILIPPE VLAEMMINCK NEW PARTNER AT ALTIUS

Brussels, 1 July 2011 – Philippe Vlaemminck joined the ALTIUS Partnership on 1 July 2011, where he will head the EU Regulatory and Trade practice group.

ALTIUS is pleased to announce that Philippe Vlaemminck and his team joined the firm on 1 July 2011. Philippe will be particularly involved in the development of the EU Regulatory and Trade practice group at ALTIUS.

Philippe Vlaemminck has more than 25 years’ specialist experience in EU law (Regulatory and Litigation) and trade law (WTO, TBR, anti-dumping, etc.). He has considerable litigation experience before the General Court and the Court of Justice of the EU and the EFTA Court and was among the first private lawyers to be granted the right to appear in a WTO dispute settlement hearing.

He is widely regarded as a leading contributor to the current debate on gaming and gambling in the EU, and has been involved in every gambling case before the CJEU and the EFTA Court. He also acts as a legal advisor to various EU Member States, regulators, and operators.

He has been involved in a number of high-profile trade disputes, such as the WTO dispute about the EU’s regime for importing and distributing bananas, anti-dumping cases involving the European footwear industry, and the TBR and WTO procedures regarding the cross-border supply of internet gambling services in the USA.
