Kocian Solc Balastik Wins Czech Republic's Law Firm of the Year Award for Fourth Straight Year

Kocian Solc Balastik (KSB) was recently honoured once again as one of the best law firms in the Czech Republic and, for a remarkable fourth year in a row, it won the distinguished Law Firm of the Year 2011 award in the category of Company and Competition Law.

KSB was also named a highly recommended or recommended law firm in a majority of the legal award categories, including Mergers & Acquisitions, IT Law, Tax Law, Banking & Finance, Restructuring and Insolvency, Dispute Resolution and Arbitration, Sport Law and Criminal Law, which further proves that KSB offers high quality legal services in essentially all areas of business-related law.

The awards ceremony of the fourth annual awards took place at InterContinental Praha Hotel on 22 November 2011 under the auspices of Petr Neèas, the Prime Minister; Jiøí Pospíšil, the Ministry of Justice; and the Czech Bar Association.

The award was accepted on behalf of KSB by KSB partner Jan Dìdiè and KSB attorney Sylvie Sobolová, who thanked KSB’s clients as well as other law firms, which as part of the contest evaluated and ranked their peers.

The Law Firm of the Year awards have been organized by the market-analysis company Epravo.cz since 2008, and since the inception of the awards, KSB has continuously been awarded the title of Law Firm of the Year in the category of Corporate Law (2008) and Company and Competition Law (2009 onwards) each successive year. KSB has also been repeatedly named a leading law firm in several other categories, namely Mergers & Acquisitions, Restructuring and Insolvency, Dispute Resolution and Arbitration.

In addition to receiving national recognition, KSB has also been evaluated as a leading Czech law firm in acclaimed international legal rankings; for example, Chambers Europe ranks KSB as a Band 1 firm in the Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Competition Law categories in 2011.
