Atsumi & Sakai Partner Hires

Atsumi & Sakai continues its strategic expansion with the hiring of new partners. New hires include Mr. Tatsuo Tezuka, Mr. Guohui Fan, and Mr. Ian S. Scott.

Mr. Tatsuo Tezuka:
(Admitted in Japan, 1993)
Mr. Tezuka joins Atsumi & Sakai from Tokyo law firm Nishimura & Asahi, where he was a partner. His practice is focused on banking, acquisition finance and other structured finance transactions and is particularly well known for his experience in project finance. He also has varied experience on M&A and corporate matters.

Mr. Guohui Fan:
(Admitted in the People’s Republic of China, 1985)
(Registered Foreign Lawyer (PRC) in Japan)
Mr. Fan is registered to practice PRC law in Japan; he advises both PRC companies doing business in Japan and Japanese companies investing in the PRC. He is a native Mandarin speaker and speaks fluent Japanese; prior to joining Atsumi & Sakai Mr. Fan was a partner at Cast Group.

Mr. Ian S. Scott:

Mr. Scott’s practice is focused on sports, media and entertainment law, advising major European and Asian football clubs, and international sports organizations; his experience will add to Atsumi & Sakai’s expanding media law practice. Prior to joining Atsumi & Sakai he worked for internationally recognized football clubs to obtain a better commercial perspective of the sports business, and advised on sports law at Australian law firms.

In addition, 3 lateral hire and 3 newly qualified Japanese attorneys have joined the firm since January 2012.
