Minter Ellison appointed to the Commonwealth's Legal Services Multi-Use List

June, 2012 - Sydney, New South Wales

Minter Ellison has been appointed to all panels under the Legal Services Multi-Use List arrangements set up by the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Office of Legal Services Coordination. The Multi-Use List provides agencies with a pre-approved list of law firms for the purpose of procuring legal services.

Paul McGinness, Managing Partner of the firm's Canberra office, who is responsible for overseeing all of its Federal Government client relationships, said Minter Ellison has been advising Commonwealth agencies for over 40 years and has established best practice procedures to efficiently manage legal matters and build close and enduring client relationships.

"Our appointment reinforces what our Government clients already tell us – that we specialise in complex sensitive projects implementing Government policy. We are fortunate to have great depth and breadth of Government expertise, especially in our Canberra office. We have more Canberra lawyers recognised in Best Lawyers 2012 than any other law firm. We also recognise that under the new MUL arrangements clients will be looking to apply a system that is effective and easy to use."

"We have in place a range of processes for managing relationships with our existing Commonwealth Government clients.

"Our approach is to allocate a partner to be responsible for each individual client relationship, ensure our team understands the client's business, and carefully manage special reporting and invoicing requirements. The partner will also attend regular meetings with the client to receive and provide feedback and to maintain our focus on continuous improvement," Mr McGinness said.
