Minter Ellison's new Perth premises opened by WA Premier

June, 2012 - Sydney, New South Wales

Minter Ellison's new office premises in Perth were officially opened by the Premier of Western Australia, the Hon Colin Barnett, at a launch event attended by clients, government and industry leaders on Thursday, 21 June.

Chief Executive Partner, John Weber, said the new 'state of the art' offices reflect the firm's commitment to Western Australia. "Since opening our integrated office in Perth on 1 October last year, we have been determined to find a home that reflects our strong local presence and our commitment to offer clients in this market the capabilities that are the hallmarks of a tier one international law firm," he said.

"During the past eight months we've been on a steep growth trajectory in Perth – four partners and a total staff complement of twelve have grown to seven partners and fifty four other lawyers and support staff.

"The team is working with blue-chip local and national clients as well as with multinationals and Asian entities doing business in Western Australia's burgeoning economy. Some of the biggest deals in Australia are negotiated in this State, and the demand for high-end legal services just continues to grow."

Mr Weber noted that Minter Ellison now had the solid platform it needed to continue to grow its business in Western Australia. "As we planned from the outset, the Perth office is now inextricably linked to our people on the ground in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Mongolia. It is a key contributor to the firm's regional strategy," he said.

The focus of Minter Ellison's Perth office is in the areas that drive Western Australia's economy – energy & resources, property, projects and infrastructure, financial services, and government.

Minter Ellison's new premises occupy three levels at Allendale Square, in the traditional heart of St Georges Terrace and adjacent to the new water front development.

The offices showcase Western Australian materials and feature artworks by prominent Western Australian artists. With their modern design, the offices deliver accessibility and cutting-edge technology support for clients, and provide a dynamic, professional environment for staff.
