Spilman Adds 5 New Attorneys to the Team

Charleston, W.Va. — The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced today that five new associates have joined the practice.
David A. Bosak’s primary area of practice is general litigation. He received both his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, and his law degree from The Ohio State University. He worked as a summer associate at Spilman during the summer of 2011. He will practice in the Charleston, W.Va. office.
Jessica L. Kimble practices law across a variety of areas, including financial industry matters, corporate law and shale gas industry matters. She received her undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University and her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. She will practice in the Winston-Salem, N.C. office.
Elizabeth A. Petty’s primary areas of practice are estate planning and administration and federal taxation. She received her undergraduate degree from Kenyon College and her law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law. From August to December 2011, she worked at the Washington and Lee University tax clinic. She will practice in the Charleston, W.Va. office.
Joseph V. Schaeffer’s primary area of practice is general litigation, and he has a special interest in environmental law. He received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from West Virginia University and his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He will practice in the Morgantown, W.Va. office.
Lindsay Griffin Smith’s primary area of practice is labor and employment law. She received both her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, and her law degree, cum laude, from The Ohio State University. She worked as a summer associate at Spilman during the summer of 2011. She will practice in the Charleston, W.Va. office.
