Guyer & Regules Assists Mega Supermarket Chain in Excess of USD 150 Million Acquisition Deal

Guyer & Regules advised Ta-Ta and Multiahorro, two large supermarket chains that operate in Uruguay signed an agreement by virtue of which Ta-Ta will purchase (from the owners of Multiahorro) 100% of the shares of the company owning the “Multiahorro” supermarket chain and the real estate where the stores are located. Supermercados Multiahorro is a leading supermarket chain in Uruguay founded in 1995, that has been consistently growing since its inception and it currently has 55 stores countrywide, some with large stores (large supermarkets) as well as Multiahorro Express (smaller stores located in highly populated areas). The sale also includes “Multiahorro Hogar” a store specialized in distributing home utilities (refrigerators, televisions and similar electronic products).The deal is expected to close by the end of February 2013 after the due diligence has been completed. Guyer & Regules acted for Supermercados Multiahorro in this complex transaction.
