Spilman Attorney Delivers E-Discovery Presentation at Nation’s Capital

Tower will be speaking Monday in Washington, D.C. at the SHRM® 2013 Employment Law and Legislative Conference. Tower will be speaking to senior-level human resource professionals from across the country on the topic of “Discovering E-Discovery: HR’s New Role in Employment Litigation.”
“My presentation will teach HR professionals about an employer’s legal duty to preserve documents and electronically stored information, in order to take appropriate action in the event of actual or threatened litigation,” said Tower. “It is important that employers are not only able to identify the events that trigger their legal duty to preserve documents and electronically stored information, but that they also develop strategic policies and practices to enhance document retention and organization within their organizations.”
Tower leads Spilman’s labor and employment practice in the firm’s Roanoke, Va. office. His primary areas of practice are labor and employment law and litigation. He has more than 16 years of experience representing employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including employment law litigation, traditional labor union work, labor-management relations, and business advice and counseling.
