Carey Appoints Two New Partners

Two associates were promoted as partners in Carey, the largest law firm in Chile: Francisco Carey in Intellectual Property and Ricardo Reveco in Litigation. This way, Carey now has 25 partners and 5 directors.

Francisco Carey is partner of Carey’s Intellectual Property and Information Technology Group, focusing his practice on IP litigation, licensing, distribution and franchise agreement, trademarks and patents prosecution.

He worked at LexisNexis´ Legal Department in Dayton, Ohio, USA for nearly a year (2006-2007). Francisco Carey is currently a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), and member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).

Mr. Carey studied law at the Universidad de Los Andes and was admitted to the Bar in 2004. In 2006 he received a Master of Laws degree (LLM) at Duke University, North Carolina, USA.

Ricardo Reveco is partner of Carey´s Litigation Group. His practice focused principally on civil and commercial litigation, arbitration, administrative and enviromental regulatory litigation; bankruptcy and insolvency.

Between 2002 and 2006 he worked as Chief of Staff of the Governor of Santiago, Chile. Mr. Reveco is member of the Chilean Bar Association and a member of the U.S.-based District of New York Bar. Since 2003, he is a professor of Private Law at the Universidad de Chile and has published several legal papers in Chilean and foreign law reviews.

Mr. Reveco studied law at the Universidad de Chile, having been admitted to the bar in 2001. During 2002 and 2003 he studied a Master of Laws at the Universidad de Chile. In 2005 he was awarded a Chilean Government Scholarship and obtained a Master of Laws (L.L.M.) degree at Duke University School of Law, USA in 2006.

In 2007 Mr. Reveco was admitted to the Bar in the state of New York.
