Hunton & Williams LLP's Christina Crockett and Chike Egbuniwe Named to Lawyers of Color's Hot List

WASHINGTON — June 28, 2013 — Christina Crockett and Chike Egbuniwe have been named to Lawyers of Color's inaugural Hot List for the Mid-Atlantic and Southwest Regions, respectively. This select list of only 100 recognizes junior- and mid-level lawyers for their noteworthy accomplishments in the legal field. The honorees were chosen by a selection committee that spent months researching bar publications to identify promising candidates. In addition, nominations were accepted from mentors, peers and colleagues.
Crockett, an associate in Hunton & Williams' tax and ERISA practice, advises employers and third-party administrators on tax and ERISA aspects of employee benefits law. In addition to being a frequent speaker on employee benefits for the American Bar
Association, she has served as an ABA Young Lawyer Liaison to two Subcommittees of the Section of Taxation's Employee Benefits Committee. In recognition of her outstanding service and leadership, Crockett was honored in 2013 as an ABA Tax Section Nolan Fellow.
As an associate in Hunton & Williams’ corporate practice, Egbuniwe represents clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, corporate finance activities, and general corporate matters. In addition to his legal practice, Egbuniwe serves on the board of the nonprofit organization, Reading & Radio Resources. He also gives back to the community through pro bono work with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and other nonprofit agencies in the Greater Dallas area.
Lawyers of Color (LOC), which was originally called On Being A Black Lawyer, has been recognized by the American Bar Association, National Black Law Students Association and National Association of Black Journalists. Founded in 2008 as a news and resource center, LOC has grown into a social media firm providing research, career development and brand marketing opportunities to its clients.
