Hunton & Williams LLP Represents Virginia American Water in Acquisition of Dale Service Corporation for $27.7 Million

McLEAN, VIRGINIA — November 19, 2013 — Hunton & Williams LLP advised Virginia American Water, a subsidiary of American Water Works Company, Inc., the largest publicly traded US water and wastewater utility company, in its $27.7 million acquisition of Dale Service Corporation, a wastewater utility company providing wastewater collection and treatment services to approximately 20,000 customers in the Dale City area of Prince William County. Closed November 14, the deal marks Virginia American Water's initial entry into the wastewater services market.

The Hunton & Williams corporate acquisition team was led by partner Sean M. Beard in the firm's Richmond office. The mergers and acquisitions practice advises senior business leadership, in virtually every sector of the economy, in negotiating the increasingly complex M&A path, from initial consideration and negotiation of a deal, through due diligence and regulatory approvals, to completion of the project and post-closing integration.
