Hong Kong, April 14, 2014 – The international law firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners launches a new office Hong Kong, China, strengthening its international presence and confirming its foreign market expansion strategy. The firm’s office is already fully functional under the management of resident Partner Stefano Beghi.

The opening of new headquarters in Hong Kong represents a further step in the internationalization process of the firm, which will now be able to offer its services to Italian and international clients in a particular target area – Asia and the Far East – that in the last few years has proven to be a significant pull factor for foreign investments, not to mention the high number of local companies that are looking with growing interest towards investment opportunities in Europe and particularly in Italy.

In this context, Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners’ clients will benefit from the synergy between the new office and the China Desk which has existed since 2007. The Desk, made up of professionals with a strong know-how and long-term expertise of China, has been engaged in significant cross-border transactions over the years. Thanks to the new office in Hong Kong, the firm will be able to support present and potential new clients reinforcing an already wide and long-standing network of relationships with the Chinese business community built through the Desk’s activities.

Stefano Beghi, former Managing Partner of the Firm’s office in Padua, has gained an in-depth knowledge of the Asian markets with a focus on India and China, first as the head of the China Desk and, subsequently, by close personal local involvement, creating the right conditions for the launch of a new office.

Stefano states: “I’m enthusiastic about this new chapter in the expansion of the Firm: in China generally, and in Hong Kong specifically, I see an economic, financial and tax context that is extremely attractive for Italian companies who are willing to expand their reach. Hong Kong is not only the crossroad of the Asian economy but also of all the investments that flow towards Europe. I’m sure that thanks to this new office we will be able to assist our clients in a more efficient and effective way”.

“The domestic and international market has recognized us as a market leader and this allows us to look with confidence toward the future and to realize important steps such as this one” adds Tomaso Cenci, Managing Partner at Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners. “Italy is working on renewing its ability to attract foreign investments. Signs of an economic upturn will give added impetus to Italian companies who are looking to grow abroad”.
