IFLR 1000 awards PLMJ top rankings in the areas Corporate/M&A and Restructuring and Insolvency

October, 2015 - Lisbon, Portugal

The law firm PLMJ has achieved top rankings from IFLR 1000 in the corporate and M&A, and restructuring and insolvency practice areas, both in Tier 1. Of the top three Portuguese firms, PLMJ is the only one with ‘Expert Lawyers’ in countries outside Portugal: Manuel Santos Vítor, the PLMJ partner who heads the firm’s corporate and natural resources practices, in Angola and Mozambique, Pedro Metello de Nápoles, the partner who heads PLMJ’s Angola Desk and Bruno Xavier de Pina, a senior associate from PLMJ’s Angola Desk, both in Angola. In total, seven PLMJ lawyers are recommended ‘Leading Lawyers’ and six as ‘Rising Stars’.

This annually published directory analyses the best law firms from around the world that stand out for their work on financial operations. These recommendations are based on the opinions of in-house lawyers from the leading Portuguese and international financial institutions.

For PLMJ managing partner Luís Pais Antunes, “appearing at the top of the IFLR 1000 rankings is a clear sign of the strong commitment, skill and quality of PLMJ’s lawyers and teams. It is also recognition of the scale and importance of the work done on major Portuguese and international operations in which we share almost 50 years of experience in legal services with our clients”.

GLA and TTA, members of PLMJ International Legal Network, featured in IFLR 1000

IFLR1000 has also recognised PLMJ’s network partners, TTA and GLA, in the financial and corporate categories. Both firms have maintained last year’s positions of Tier 2 in Angola and Tier 3 in Mozambique.
