Wirtschaftswoche 2017: Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek is one of the top law firms in labor law

February, 2017 - Duesseldorf, Germany

Business magazine Wirtschaftswoche recognized Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek as one of the top law firms in labor law and Frankfurt-based partner Bernd Weller individually as a top labor lawyer.

The Wirtschaftswoche ranking of the top law firms assists companies in finding the right advisor for their requirements. The ranking was carried out by Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI). In a first step, HRI identified more than 500 labor law experts, who were then asked to assess the other experts from the field of labor law (with self-nominations being excluded, of course). The selected lawyers were again reviewed by a jury that included leading representatives of business (ThyssenKrupp and Merck), associations (BVAU, Federal Association of Labor Lawyers), and science (chief editor of NZA trade magazine). The jury then drew up the final list of top firms and individual experts. A total of 27 law firms and 45 experts were recognized by Wirtschaftswoche.

With some 350 lawyers, tax advisors, and notaries at eight offices in Germany as well as offices in Brussels and Zurich, the firm is one of the large business law firms in Germany. The Employment Law Practice Group consists of a team of more than 30 lawyers and specialist lawyers for labor law. They comprehensively advise on matters pertaining to individual and collective labor law on demanding restructuring projects and transactions. The expertise also includes ongoing strategic counseling of national and international companies as well as advice and representation in court and out of court in complex individual cases (including to board members and general mangers).

Bernd Weller comprehensively advises in all aspects of labor law, with a clear focus on matters of collective bargaining, in particular works constitution law. He has been a specialist lawyer in employment law since 2006, is regularly publishing articles in specialist magazines, and has been a sought-after speaker for years, in particular on matters pertaining to works constitution law. Bernd Weller has been recommended as an employment law expert for years, including by JUVE Handbook for Commercial Law Firms, Chambers Europe, Legal500, and Who’s Who.
