Technology Expert Thomas Jansen joins Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek from DLA Piper

Effective July 20, 2017, Dr. Thomas Jansen (52) will join Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Munich office as an Equity Partner. The technology lawyer joins Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek from DLA Piper. Thomas Jansen has been a Partner at DLA Piper since 2004. He opened the firm's Munich office in 2007 and served as Office Managing Partner until September 2016. Previously, Thomas Jansen worked at Linklaters after beginning his career at Oppenhoff & Rädler in 1996. Together with Thomas Jansen, Britta Hinzpeter (40), currently also at DLA Piper, will join Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Munich office as a Salaried Partner.

Thomas Jansen has more than 20 years of experience as a technology lawyer. He advises German and international clients on complex technology transactions and projects in technology-driven sectors – in particular, in IT, Telecommunications, Aerospace & Defense, as well as Automotive and Manufacturing & Engineering. He focuses on outsourcing contracts, service level agreements, software creation and maintenance contracts, as well as R&D cooperation, joint ventures, M&A transactions, and technology transfers. In addition, he advises on legal aspects related to digitization, eCommerce, ePayment, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality, mobile communications, privacy, and data security.

In addition, Thomas Jansen advises clients on progressing from the initial idea to the final product, in particular on strategic issues related to the development, application and distribution of technology-related products and solutions.

Most recently, Britta Hinzpeter worked as Counsel at DLA Piper in Munich, where she has been a technology lawyer since 2006. Britta Hinzpeter focuses on data protection law. She advises clients on adapting their systems and guidelines to the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. In particular, she advises on data protection audits and develops compliance programs. Additionally, Britta Hinzpeter has long-standing experience advising on the introduction of corporate data processing systems and drafting the appropriate data transfer agreements. She also advises on sector-specific questions of data protection law, including in Life Sciences & Health Care and Financial Services. Britta Hinzpeter is a Certified Data Protection Officer (TÜV), has obtained the "Information Privacy Professional Europe" Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and has authored numerous publications on data protection and privacy issues. She further advises German and international clients on all technology-related matters.
