Prior to joining PwC Paul spent many years in the corporate team at Pinsent Masons in Birmingham.

Ben Turner, head of Shoosmiths’ corporate teams in Birmingham and Nottingham, said: “The growth of the corporate practice group is a key strategic aim of Shoosmiths. We see Paul’s appointment as business-critical to complement the existing corporate team and widen its local reach. Paul has a proven record of building strong client relationships through first-class service delivery which dovetails well with our existing culture and practice.”

Batchelor said: “I am looking forward to working with the team, especially at a time when it is striving to become the leading national corporate team in the UK. Shoosmiths has an enviable reputation locally for doing high-complexity work for national and international corporate clients and I look forward to contributing to this”
