Haynes and Boone Patent Practice Ranked No. 2 Nationally by Juristat

March, 2018 - Dallas, Texas

Haynes and Boone, LLP has been ranked No. 2 among patent law firms in the United States by Juristat, a leading patent analytics company focused on Patent Office practice.

This was the third straight time Haynes and Boone appeared among the top 15 firms in Juristat's rankings, moving up from No. 13 in 2016 to No. 6 in 2017 and now up to No. 2.

Juristat's annual Top 100 takes into account the number of patent applications filed; allowance rate; average number of office actions before allowance; and average time to allowance. Juristat calls its calculations "the only ranking of U.S. patent prosecution teams based on objective measurements of firm performance."

The 2018 rankings measure public U.S. patent applications disposed of between July 1, 2015, and June 30, 2016.

"Our patent prosecution team spans the country and helps clients in a wide array of industries to develop and manage patent protection, and to minimize the risk of third-party patents being asserted as to their key products and services," said Jeff Wolfson, who chairs the firm's Patent Prosecution Practice Group.

Haynes and Boone's Patent Prosecution and Patent Trials & Counseling practice groups provide clients with a full range of services to protect and profit from their intellectual property. Our patent team has filed more than 11,000 applications worldwide in the past five years and offers sophisticated counseling and complex portfolio management, as well as representation in post-grant proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and support for our IP litigation practice in federal court litigations and cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).

All of the firm's patent lawyers and substantially all of the firm's dedicated patent litigators have technical or science degrees and backgrounds, having worked as computer programmers, doctors, engineers, chemists, microbiologists and biochemists, physicists, technical salespeople and more. Many team members have worked extensively in their respective fields as entrepreneurs, teachers/university faculty, inventors and in-house counsel. As a result, the team can focus on delivering practical solutions and achieving business goals for clients, whether they are startups, middle-market companies or large multinational corporations.
