Dykema Product Liability Litigation Group Recognized in BTI Litigation Outlook 2019

October, 2018 - Detroit, Michigan

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced today that corporate counsel recognized Dykema as one of the top law firms in the area of Product Liability Litigation in BTI’s Litigation Outlook 2019 report. One of the top 200 law firms included in the report’s Product Liability Honor Roll, BTI notes that firms ranked in the report are leading the litigation market.

According to BTI, as litigation continues to become more complex, corporate counsel turn to law firms they know and trust—and can sell to their leadership with little debate. BTI asked leading corporate counsel to name the firms they currently look to for their most pressing litigation needs—Dykema was listed among the top firms in Product Liability Litigation.

“Product liability, I will tell you, is the single most competitive aspect of litigation,” said BTI President and Founder Michael Rynowecer in an interview with Law360. “There are more firms vying for product liability than anything else, and there’s not only a lot of it, but it ranges in size and it ranges in risk.”

According to the report, 60 percent of the companies surveyed said they handled product liability litigation in 2018, up from about 53 percent in 2017. The report also states that after three fairly flat years of spending on product liability litigation, companies have started to increase their budgets in that area.

BTI Litigation Outlook 2019 is based solely on more than 350 in-depth telephone interviews with leading legal decision makers. This research is independent and unbiased. Each year, BTI reaches out to a strategically designed group of top legal decision makers at large organizations with $1 billion or more in revenue. They target the decision makers in the industries who spend the most on legal affairs.

Dykema attorneys have been in the forefront of the defense of claims pertaining to products of all types. The firm’s representation has spanned the spectrum, representing vehicle manufacturers, manufacturers of household products, industrial and construction equipment, medical devices and drugs, and a wide variety of consumer as well as durable products.
