Dykema’s Lansing Office Adds Government Policy Advisor Tracy D. Winston

March, 2019 - Detroit, Michigan

Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Tracy D. Winston to its Government Policy & Practice Group as a government policy advisor in the firm’s Lansing office. Prior to joining Dykema, Winston served as Democratic Caucus Policy Advisor for the Michigan House of Representatives.

In her previous advisory role, Winston focused her work on health and insurance policy. She negotiated with non-partisan members and staff on legislation and policy differences, monitored legislation, worked with stakeholders to solicit and address policy issues and concerns, conducted research on national health policy, and served as a liaison between members of the State Legislature, interested groups, and lobbyists.

“Tracy’s legislative process experience and ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders on several issues is a real asset to our team,” said Sandi Cotter, Director of Dykema’s Regulated Industries Department and Leader of its Government Policy & Practice Group. “We are delighted that Tracy joined us and she has hit the ground running.”

A resident of the City of Lansing, Winston has served as a member of the Mayor’s Neighborhood Advisory Board, which provides support and guidance to neighborhood groups and organizations to secure grant funding for projects.

Winston also has experience serving as Committee Director with the Texas House of Representatives and was involved in In-house Counsel/Compliance for Insurance Market Advisors.

Winston earned a J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law and a B.S. from Hope College. She is a member of the Texas bar and is pending admission in Michigan.
